InterStellar Jay

Interstellar Jay is Jeremy Apple music - the name meant to capture the spirit of my solo music work.  I'm an independent amateur music creator: guitarist, songwriter, and music producer.  Born & raised in New York, now I call California home.  My passion in life & greatest joy on this world is creating, playing and sharing music with all who care to have a listen.  More than anything, I just want people to enjoy and dance to the music I create.

This is my space to share what I love with all of you.

Like most, my musical journey early on began with some classical training in school -- mostly brass instruments for me.  When I found the guitar in middle school, I was hooked.  I followed the rabbit hole of classic folk, eventually playing acoustic sets at college bars and coffee shops.  When that path led me to psychedelic influences of Phish, Grateful Dead and Pink Floyd, I swapped the acoustic for electric guitar and haven't really looked back.

I love to meet and collaborate with likeminded musicians, whether in a jam or organized gigs. My musical style is a mix of psychedelic and progressive rock, improvisationally influenced, with chill rhythm & blues vibe.

I'm going all in for 2022, working on playing live shows around norther California and writing through the summer. I'm also cooking up a batch of new original songs, and will be getting into a studio to record a few this fall.  Plans for a little independent EP release this year are in the works. Stay tuned! :-)

Jam Culture

Jam Culture is an improvisational music collaboration created by duo Jeremy Apple on electric guitar and vocals, and Jamie Barber performing double duty on keyboard/synths/electric piano while running a live mixing rig.  Jeremy and Jamie are neighbors in Truckee and met while walking their dogs around the hood.  After discovering a mutual love for improvisational jamming, they now meet on a weekly basis in Jamie’s studio to hang, jam and record purely improvisational music.  After over a year of practicing and honing their sound, Jamie and Jeremy launched Jam Culture as a music collaborative meant to embrace the love of improv jamming and progressive rock music they share.  All of their work is entirely improvisational with minimal preplanning, by design.  All Jam Culture recordings are live mixed and almost entirely unedited before they’re published — meant for the listener to witness the true nature of improvisational jam creation..

JayByrd

JayByrd is an electric guitar duo made up of Jeremy “InterStellar Jay” Apple California, and Brian “Byrd” Payne from Oklahoma. JayByrd met through mutual friends and a shared love of the band Phish, which is the foundation for their psychedelic space funk vibe born out of late nights chasing rainbows through heady jam vehicles. Moving from deep funk rhythms to far-out jams and back again, JayByrd seeks to take listeners on an intergalactic musical voyage through space and time. JayByrd collaborates virtually on independent recordings and meet for a deep space jam whenever time on earth permits, usually at an after party to a Phish show or the like. Catch us at your next late night special!
